The
FAX Encryptor is an exclusive G3 Facsimile Encryptor. It is easy to connect between
any group 3 fax machine and its phone line and allows untrained persons to exchange
secured fax messages very easily. |
|
The G3 fax
machines on either side of the link may be of different type and origin. All types
of fax units meeting the G3 standard and ITU-T Recommendation T.30 may be connected.
Maximum supported transmission rate is 14,400 bps (higher transmission rates as
with Super G3 fax machines are forced to 14,400 bps). |
|
It
supports Error Correction Mode (ECM). The use of this mode in the connected fax
machines is recommended. In addition, thanks to the synchronous steam cipher used,
which is free from line error multiplication, there is no degradation of the fax
quality after deciphering. |
|
The signaling
is routed directly from the fax machine (or phone) to the subscriber line. Therefore
it is independent of the dialing procedure. |
|
It
offers high security against inadvertent plain transactions. It allows plain transmission
only at your express choice and it opens the line when it is disconnected from
the mains power supply. |
|
Fax messages can
be sent in encrypted or plain mode; the latter is necessary if a fax message has
to be sent to a fax machine not equipped with an encryptor. Inadvertent plain
fax transmission can be inhibited. |
|
On
the other hand also the reception of fax messages can be controlled. The encryptor
can be controlled. The encryptor can be configured to refuse the reception of
plain fax messages (including junk mail). |
|
On
the recipient side an encryption stamp is provided for each message, which has
been transferred encrypted. |
|
Authorized
persons identify themselves with a Security Module or a PIN when they install
or change settings. |
|
A Built-in test equipment
(BITE) helps tracking faults in malfunctioning units. |
|
When
a printer is connected, the Fax encryptor produces a complete transaction report
24 hours a day, including the partners identification and confirmation for every
message as well as time, date and whether the transaction was encrypted or plain. |
|
Efficient unit and line test functions
help to localize errors in the local as well as in the remote encryptor or on
the link. |
